What I know about searching the web: • When searching the web Google may not always be the correct search engine. Sometimes you can use what is a called a Meta Search Engine to search all different kinds of databases and possibly get a better search. • If you do decide to use Google you can use an advanced search to find a more specific search. On advanced search you can specify if you want a certain file extension, a certain language, or to search for exact wording. • When searching in a search engine you are actually searching a database instead of the search engine its self. A database is a place that has all of the web pages in one area.

What I know about searching the web • By: Shayne F. (SteamRicky & ShayneF78comp) • The most important thing I’ve learned about searching the web is most likely the way that major search engines search the web. They don’t use the technique you would think and just search the web, but they search their database for more “Popular” links.
• To determine which sites are the most popular the database will search how many people reference the site by making a link to the site. The database will then search how many links there are to the site and will “rank” the site accordingly

Surfing the internet properly is a skill that is a necessity for doing research in a society that now is heavily reliant on computers. Therefore, it is important that the user knows how to do exceptional internet research with proper tools. Search engines provide access to over millions of websites with information that is relevant to what your are searching for. However, search engines such as Google and Ask, usually only look for very specific terms. A Metaseach can find a much more broad range of information in comparison to a search engine like Google.

Surfing the web can be a very helpful tool. Tools like Google do not actually search the web the search there data. Tools like bueacoup.com use spiders and crawlers. Surfing the web can also be very dangerous if you give way personal privet info. Web search engines use special software to search the web

Exiting Word is a simple task. There are a few ways to do this. The first way is not totally exiting word but closing it. All you do is click on the red x in t he corner of the screen. Another way is to go to the widows sign at the top of the screen and go down until you see the option to quit word

Though i dont know much about the new features on Word besides the ribbon I found out that if you hold ALT you can use those underlined letters in names as shortcuts in any PC application. This is nice to know cause it annoyed me that parts of menu names were underlined but i couldnt use them.

Nothing seemed very hard about this lesson. Most of this lesson's features are stuff that can easily be learned just by playing around with it (if you are new to it), or should be known if even you have worked with previous versions.
The only thing that looked real different was the graphics of the work bar at the top.
